I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and now live just south of the city with my husband Paul. The spark for writing spooky stories was ignited at nine years old when I composed a tale of an old man in a graveyard. In junior high school, I wrote a short story for English class called “The Strange Sound” - A brother and sister meet with a gruesome fate after visiting their uncle’s old farmhouse. There were other supernatural stories along the way, including an unpublished novel using the characters from the popular 1960’s soap opera Dark Shadows.
I am intrigued by true-life stories that are stranger than fiction, and I love a twist ending that I never see coming. Mostly I am captivated by a great love story. I savor reading and writing about ghosts, reincarnation, and time travel. I’ve written a number of short stories and songs, as well as hundreds of poems. But my true passion is writing novels and screenplays. This led me to teach screenwriting. I have also enjoyed being in a theater company and have worked in marketing and advertising.
I am beyond thrilled to work with my longtime writing partner, Betty Lynn Nye. I believe that collaborating with her enhances my words and turns them into magic. I am excited about what’s on the horizon and look forward to continuing to create many projects together.

I was born a New Englander but currently reside in Charlottesville, Virginia with my husband Bob. I knew I wanted to be a writer from the time I composed a story in 6th grade: “The Last Man on Earth” - While an astronaut is on a mission in outer space, the human race is annihilated by a nuclear war leaving him the last man on earth. (Yup, heady stuff for a twelve-year-old. Ha!)
I have always been interested in the realms of the spirit, the supernatural, the haunting beauty of the New England coastline, and history. My interests have taken me down several paths. I’ve written screenplays, novels, songs, poems, and worked as a newspaper journalist. I have also enjoyed directing, performing in, and teaching theater.
The creative journey writing in partnership with Denise M. McShane for many years has given me unforgettable experiences: the excitement of being inspired by a new idea, the intrigue of searching for and serendipitously locating research, the joy of completing a project together, and the thrills and anxieties of marketing. I look forward to having many more exhilarating adventures writing novels and screenplays in partnership with Denise.
